DICKINSON, N.D. - The three Dickinson State University North Dakota softball players believed to have been on a stargazing trip were found dead inside a Jeep after signals from their last desperate phone calls helped lead authorities to a rural farm pond.

Stark County Sheriff Clarence Tuhy said the calls, which authorities were able to track to cell phone towers, were critical in leading searchers to the vehicle.

DICKINSON, N.D. - It was a dark road that led to a tragic dead end.

The three Dickinson State University softball players found dead after their sport utility vehicle went into a pond on a North Dakota farm during an apparent stargazing trip likely drove straight into the water, police said Wednesday.

Stark County Sheriff Clarence Tuhy said the women's SUV was found resting on its wheels Tuesday in about 10 feet of water hidden by tall grass, with the doors and windows closed.

DICKINSON, N.D. - The three missing Dickinson State University softball players were found dead Tuesday in a Jeep that was pulled from a pond two days after the women disappeared.

Authorities had been searching since Sunday night for Ashley Neufeld, 21, of Brandon, Man., Kyrstin Gemar, 22, of San Diego; and Afton Williamson, 20, of Lake Elsinore, Calif.

DICKINSON, N.D. - Absolutely nothing.

That's what police say a dive team found during a search of a North Dakota lake for signs of three missing young women, Dickinson State University softball players.

Dickinson Police Lt. Dave Wallace said Tuesday that a search of a youth fishing area also found no trace of the students who disappeared Sunday night after two strange phone calls to a friend indicated they needed help and mentioned water.

DICKINSON, N.D. - There was a phone call in the middle of the night asking for help, then another. Then the line cut out and three young Dickinson State University students simply vanished.

Police in southwestern North Dakota searched Monday for the three softball players reported missing after a friend received late night telephone calls that mentioned water and indicated the women needed help.

GRAND FORKS, N.D. - File this one in the "just a bad idea" file, but a North Dakota woman is accused of showing a pornographic video out the window of her home, which is near an elementary school.

Grand Forks police do not yet have a motive, but they say that 37-year-old Nicole Altendorf also bit an officer's arm and kicked him several times in the groin as he tried arrest her Friday.
