If Michael Vick is as sorry as he now claims to be, he can put some of his generous salary toward helping pitbulls who are bred to fight. Shelters would have an easier time adopting them out to new loving homes if they had the resources they needed to rehabilitate them. I personally don't think he's a good role model of school children. He fought and killed dogs for six years and only stopped because he got caught. Donating a portion of his salary to animal shelters and specifically to pitbull rehabilitation/rescue would go a long way in showing that he's had a change of heart. Only time will really tell whether he's sincere in his efforts or whether he just happened to get caught in the act and is now trying to recoup his tarnished image.

Stop making excuses people for this so called priveledged athlete, this crime he committed has nothing whatsoever to do with race he is a coward...period.

He has no buisness playing in the NFL, Roger Goodell is no better then him, anyone who defends or makes excuses for Vick clearly has blinders on , afterall look what he did to those innocent dogs , they didnt deserve that kind torture/treatment yet Vick certaintly had no problem handing it out and collecting the $$...He disgusts me...i seriously hope he has a season ending injury so he can yet again have time to think about all the harm he caused those dogs....please if you're going to reply, do me a favor don't tell me i shouldn't be so cruel....look who we're talking about....Vick...is no janitor in a kindergarden school.

Michael Vick is back and I am glad. He committed a crime and he paid for it. Why does his job matter to you as long as he is being productive in society? Exactly! It doesn't effect your life one way or another. I believe many of you say he is sad about losing the money because if you were in his situation thats what you would be concerned about. I also believe that many of you are disappointed at VIck because you will never be paid millions of dollars for any talent that you have. You are quick to say what he is sad about when in reality (whether you agree or not doesn't matter) we all knew (including Vick) he would make millions again playing ball once he was released. This man lost his NAME! Again this man lost his NAME! Something that his on the field talent wont get him back. He has to deal with people daily taking shots at his character and condemning him. Do you know how that feels? Exactly! Now the same people who condemned him (humane society) are using him to further their cause because of his high profile. Listen carefully to the director of the humane society.. He is basically saying if Vick isn't helping their cause the people will know and they will condemn you in the media. Who cares if he is helping your cause? I don't. I care if he is helping inner city kids to be better. I care about his well being, as with any human. People are commenting that he isn't sincere because he hired a few people to help him take on the world. Be honest could you handle his situation alone? Didn't think so! You say he isn't sincere because he has a smile on his face. The man has been in PRISON for the last two years and now he is free. Wouldn't you be smiling to if you were fresh out of prison ? Exactly! Regardless of any of our opinions Michael Vick has a second chance. Isn't that what America is about? Shouldn't we route for him to succeed not just on the field, but off the field. If he wins we all win. Michael Vick's success can be a great story to inspire others who fall short as we all have at some point in our lives. We are all humans and have made mistakes, fortunate for us we aren't famous so the world doesn't care. None of us are perfect so how can we judge and call someone inhumane. Look in the mirror if you want to judge someone. Leave Vicks judgement to his higher power, I promise many of you will sleep better. GO MIKE VICK!

Please people get over it. I am not an animal lover but i do think abusing animals is wrong. But it was some dogs. What about how human beings are being treated. We have abused and battered women, men ,and children and their attackers if caught do not pay half of not even a quarter of what this man has paid. Despite all the not look at this as a race thing is bull. Their are white people abusing and killing animals, everyday but no one is threating to take their way of living. Mike Vick served his time and paid his dues. Let him live. Let's concentrate on the human killers. Or charge everybody the same penalty as Vick. Since when is an animal life more valuable than a human life..... Let it go...

I can't believe anyone would fall for his performance, especially the NFL. It is awful that they would allow such a horrible human to be a role model to children and pay him that kind of money knowing what he is capable of. It's all about the mighty dollar. I have been to Best Friends and his million dollar donation (that I am sure he can right off- he does nothing for free) is only a drop in the bucket. They will go through that money in medical treatment for those dogs alone. He should have to donate a minimum of 50% of his paycheque to helping animals. And if he can't live off 7.5 million sucks tobe him I say.

No one should be making a snap judgement to give Vick a second chance who has not seen the exact details of exactly what he did and the joy he showed while doing it. I believe in second chances too but if you see the exact accounts of what he has done and can still think he's redeemable, more power to you. By the way, STOP saying this is a race issue!!! That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. I was raised to never even see race in a person and have as many African American friends as any other race and I don't see race in Vick - I see a cruel person capable of unspeakable acts that most of us could not even watch a video of, much less do!!!

Mr. Vick i would advise that you count your blessing that someone like Tony Dungy has seen remorse in you and decided to stand by you. He is the only reason to give you a second chance. Welcome back to football. I agree completely with msboojay as well.

Well i am a 30 year old African American male. I think the people who claim to hate Vick always has. I think some people hate to see African American men be successful. I think he has apologized enough. I accepted his apology before he went to jail. He has did his time. i read some comments about banning convicted felons from the NFL. While doing that, make sure you hits up the WWF, hockey, polo, golf and the UFC. i am sure you'll find some true criminals like sex offenders or something..Lets play football !!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyways his jerseys selling out the of stores so for the people that are hating GET OVER IT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I cant wait to see how the eagles are going to use him. I just cant wait. Hopefully he is reinstated by week 2

Give me a break. Anyone capable of what he did is a sociopath and should be locked up. Instead, he cries crocodile tears and worms his way back into the NFL with a nice fat contract, holding himself up as a role model to kids who think 'Hey, if Michael can get away with it it must be ok'. Two years of incarceration wasn't anywhere near long enough. Maybe he should have been subjected to the treatment he gave his dogs, who, by the way, have been rehabilitated by people who value life. Michael Vick values no one but himself.

Please consider Michael Vick as you cast your stones at him from your dinner tables full of dead bleeding animal flesh.

Please consider him when you are dressing in the morning just before work in your leather belts and stylish cowhide shoes, please consider Michael Vick on you way to work in your rebate car with leather seats.

please consider all of the dead animal in each of our daily lives.

Violence begets violence. Vick grew up around it and unfortunately perpetuated it, but has now ended the cycle. I believe him when he says that what he did was disgusting and inhumane. I think the people who want to show him disrespect are in a way showing inhumane treatment. He is doing a good thing by speaking out against animal cruelty. Why people keep kicking someone when they've 'fallen from grace' is beyond me. They're showing cruelty back.
I think the only way the human race will evolve more is when we show more compassion for one another and all beings on the planet- from ants to dogs etc. And don't be hypocritical ppl, if you've eaten a steak, pork etc, then you've supported the killing of animals. Only one is on an immense, legalised scale and is not for 'entertainment.' But the results are similar.

I thank God that man can't judge me. The bible tells me in Galatians 6:1 if a brother or sister is overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such a one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself lest thou also be tempted. Consider youself b/c this could be you and u would want someone to have mercy on u. Welcome back Mike may God bless u. Minister Toby Hall

I am on my way right now to buy an Eagles Vick jersey. I wish people would get off the guy's back. He did his time now let him be. Quit being so negative towards him. No one on the face of this earth is perfect and the beautiful thing about our great country is, we believe in givng 2nd chances. It appears and I truely believe that Vick is doing everything in his power to influence and be a strong role model for kids and society. Great job thus far Vick and keep up the good work.

Wow.....This situations really let's you know the true nature of people and exposes why we can not get ahead as a society. We are so quick to step on some one and kick them when they are down and be unwilling to give them a helping hand. What this man did was terrible point blank but at the same time he did his time, which was a time that was longer than some people spend in jail for murder and rape but for some reason society turns a blind eye to this, but has so much time to focus on dogs. I am just in awe of people reaction and I hate to say it but race i believe is playing a huge role in this, if he was another race this story would have been over two weeks after it began, Not even singling a certain race out but America as a nation has done some pretty messed up things in other countries to different peoples and we expect everyone to forgive us but yet we cant find it in our hearts to let this man live not even forgive him because that is not our jobs to do unless he came to your house and took your dog and killed it. And for the ones saying that he was a role model for their kids and he could negatively affect them in some way I am going to have to say that you need to re evaluate your parenting methods in my house my kids are taught that no one is perfect and there is only one god so we do not hold these guys to some unattainable standard. Just ask yourself WWJD (Forgive)

I been reading many of the comments on here and i cant believe what some people say. many of you dont understand how serious this is!!! I am a profesional Dog breeder and kennel. i have been breeding Pure Bred American Pitbull Terriers for over 10 years now. many dont know but we have made our dogs which we now call American Bullys Due to all the bad rep the media gives them into a huge movement worldwide. we have Bully Expos all over the country, with hundreds of families and celebrities attending, we have a radio show and a tv show called american bully show ( which can be seen online and now also on comcast ondemand) and a great magazine call atomic dog which is sold in barnes n noble. ALL this is about showing the positive side of our breed. we have taken these dogs and made them the perfect family dog. ANd then people like vick come along and destroy's everything we are trying to do for our breed, so that way the public sees the other side if what the media portrays them to be. Many of you say he has paid his debt to society? i dont agree he has not paid it at all. He did time based on what the law says but does that mean its right? moraly his debt will never be paid off. many of you guys say everyone deserves a second chance? but do you really believe everything he says about feeling bad and regreting what he did to the dogs? atleast if he would not lie to our faces but he sits there saying all these things about being sorry only because its part of his probation, and because he needs to try to restore his image so he can make the big bucks again. thats all he cares about.... people like him make me sick and people that can sit there and show love towards him and say "O leave him alone", why??? dont you think those dogs wanted to be let alone before he killed them??? Yes only god can judge him, but that dont mean we have to show him respect and support? and then he got out of jail he was able to get his multimillion dollar job back? im a convicted felon due to things i did when i was young, but do you think it does not haunt me to this day when i look for a job? he should be held to the same standerd. And for all you that think that 1.5 yrs in prison was enough? think again about the faces of all those animals he drowned, shot , electrocuted, and killed and tell me if you really think its right that he did only 1.5yrs because they are only animals? people like him is what makes my beautifull breed get such a bad name.....

Lets face it people if Mike Vick was a white man thatcommitted this simple crime he would have gotten off in no timw. All of this is because white people dont like to seeyoung black men like Vick to have the privliged life that he had and they wanted to make an example of him.Dog fighting has been goin on for years with no one ever saying anything about it.Now this so called animal rights punks have Mike under their fingertips they feel like they can control him like back in the slavery day and that BOY as they call him better do as they say or else.Give me a break,a player can kill another humane and get 30 days in jail but kill a damn dog and look what you get. This world has its values all messed up when a dogs life is more than a humans life...unless that life is a white mans life
